Apple’s creative assets put a brand image or looping video inside search results — under a rulebook (2.3.14) that bans prices and unverifiable claims. What changed, what’s allowed, what to do first.
Case study · App Store Time MachineFrom its “Learn Spanish, French, German…” launch-era title to the brand-first listing it runs today — and where it ranks now: #1 on all three of its core keywords.
Case study · App Store Time MachineA secondary-tier mileage app flipped between “Everlance: Mileage Tracker” and “Mileage Tracker by Everlance” at least three times — and grew at every snapshot either way.
Data studyFive habit apps × ten keywords, measured live. The app literally named “Habit Tracker” holds #1 on eight of ten — and nine of ten keywords have a sub-1,000-rating app sitting in the top 10.
GuideSix real causes — from the top-200 cutoff to ratings gravity — each ending in the exact check that tells you which one is yours.

A suite sells you software and leaves you alone with it. RankPeek is the tool — plus the builders climbing next to you.
App intelligence suites bundle analytics, review management, ads intel and keyword tracking, and price accordingly: the cheapest suite tier that actually tracks keyword ranks is around $45/month (Appfigures starts at $44.99/mo; its $9.99 plan tracks zero keywords). And the boards a suite shows you rank the whole market — leaderboards topped by the same conglomerates, year after year. RankPeek does one job — checking and monitoring keyword ranks — using Apple's public search data, so the tool can cost $9/month.
The other half is people. RankPeek's builder community works in keyword rooms: pick a keyword, meet the builders ranked around you — your chart neighbors — and climb together through monthly seasons built on the Opportunity Report. Its leaderboards are scoped to one keyword and one season and measured from real rank snapshots, so an indie can actually appear on them: on “mileage tracker”, #8 is an app with 12 ratings.
Honest trade-off: RankPeek does not estimate keyword popularity or download volumes, and it doesn't do keyword research. If you need research, use a suite. If you need to know "where do I rank for 'hotel journal' right now?" — and who else is climbing it — that's RankPeek.

New for Pro — the monthly Opportunity Report. Every month, Pro members get the keywords where demand is proven but the top 10 is weakly defended — with three buildable app ideas and the numbers to check them. Builders will be able to commit to an idea on a public leaderboard.
Apple's public iTunes Search API — the same index behind App Store search. It returns apps in Apple's search-result order, so your rank is your position in those results. Checks run in your browser; for scheduled Pro checks we snapshot the same data weekly.
Apple doesn't publish official rank positions. Search-result order is the faithful, observable proxy every ASO tool relies on — it's the order real users see when they search. We label it as such rather than dressing it up as something more.
Scope. Those are analytics platforms — downloads, revenue, ads intelligence, review ops — with keyword tracking as one feature among many. RankPeek only checks and monitors ranks, and its data source is free and public. Narrow job, narrow price.
No — deliberately. RankPeek answers "where do I rank for the keywords I already chose?" It doesn't estimate search volume or suggest new keywords. Tools like Astro are better for research; RankPeek is better for checking and monitoring.
No. RankPeek uses only public App Store data. We never ask for your Apple credentials or a Connect API key.
